Thomas “Tom” Anderson, 39, is the president, head of product and co-founder of the social networking website MySpace. He co-founded MySpace in 2003, along with Chris DeWolfe. He is now a strategic adviser for MySpace. Because newly created MySpace accounts include Tom as a default “friend,” he has become known as the default picture of MySpace. As of February 5, 2010, Tom’s profile has 273, 697,257 friends.
In 2003, working for eUniverse under the purview of Brad Greenspan, he and a few other eUniverse employees set up the first pages of MySpace, and the site grew from there. Late last year we discovered that MySpace cofounder Tom Anderson, arguably the most popular individual on the Internet with 240+ million MySpace friends was actually 37 years old, not the 32 that he continues to claim on his MySpace page.
“The smart bands aren’t the ones that just go out and add a bunch of friends. They’re more personal about it, they go to people’s pages and see what they have listed and then they can tell if their music might appeal to them.”
“The water’s going down and they’re coming out. We’re seeing a lot more now. When the water goes down, you see what they’re tangled up on. I expect we’ll see a lot more.”
“I urge voters to state their position on the measure by exercising their right to vote.”
“You can feel surfaces, you can feel textures, you can feel dynamics and momentum.”
