Place of Birth : Honolulu, Hawaii United States of America

Steve Case, 52, is a well know businessman. Steve Case is famous as the co-founder and former CEO and chairman of America Online (AOL). The AOL founder said he was leaving to devote time to his new company, Revolution, which provides healthcare and wellness programming. America Online founder Steve Case who took a lot of flak for the ill fated merger with Time Warner has announced that he is leaving Time Warner. He has resigned from Warner’s board of directors.
He had a major role to play in the disastrous merger between AOL and Time Warner in 2000. Media reports indicate that he will devote more time to his new health care investment company, Revolution. The merger between Time Warner and America Online left a bad taste in the mouth for the old guards at Time Warner. Not surprising considering that it resulted in in loses to the tune of $100 billion which is more than what the world’s most valuable media company Google is worth. There were shareholder lawsuits and an SEC probe.
Meanwhile, Steve Case’s interest in the nearly non-existent online world was beginning to flourish, and he was itching to get back to the entrepreneurial spirit he once enjoyed. That was enough for Case to accept a job at Control Video, a video-game specialist company backed by the company Dan Case was working for, in 1983. Steve Case became CEO of the company, and attempted to save the company from going under. With Case’s interest in the prospect of an online venture, Control Video entered the online market by providing Commodore computer users online services, under the new company name of Quantum Computer Services, in 1985.
His inspiring words “As the co-founder of AOL, I continue to have a special pride and passion for AOL, and I strongly believe that AOL — once the leading internet company in the world — can return to its past greatness”.
“There are no road signs to help navigate. And, in fact, no one has yet determined which side of the road we’re supposed to be on.”
