Mark Talks here about Entrepreneurial skills…
“I’m not looking to take this money and go do a bunch of things with it immediately. We will continue looking at talent acquisition just as we had over the last period of time and if any make a lot of sense, then we’ll surely go ahead and do…”
“Thanks to all of these efforts, our business is doing really well, and we’re on track to create a nice self-sustaining business, and because of this, a lot of companies and firms have approached us about investing in the company”
“Our revenue numbers are up and our growth continues to scale very rapidly. This investment is purely buffer for us, and not something we need to get cashflow positive.”
“Advertising on the Web is less about just hitting someone with a message… It’s about engagement [with that user].”
Mark talks about listening…
What I really liked about this piece was that it reminded me about the power of listening. When doing business on the Internet, not being able to listen to what your customers want is tantamount to failure. Many just get carried away by the ingenuity of their product or service, and try to shove it down everybody’s throat. Not so!
“Most of the successful people I’ve known are the ones who do more listening than talking.”
Bernard Baruch
“So when you are listening to somebody, completely, attentively, then you are listening not only to the words, but also to the feeling of what is being conveyed, to the whole of it, not part of it.”
Jiddu Krishnamurti
“It’s only through listening that you learn, and I never want to stop learning.”
Drew Barrymore
“If you make listening and observation your occupation you will gain much more than you can by talk.”
Robert Baden-Powell
