DYLAN SMITH
Networth:$7+million
Dylan Smith, 22 is Founder, CFO at Box.net. Dylan joined Box.net in 2005. Dylan Smith has been involved in a number of startups where he functioned as what might be called “Chief Everything,” but Box.net Inc. is the first time he has officially been chief financial officer.
Smith considers the CFO role as the CEO’s right-hand man, especially at the Palo Alto-based online file storage company he helped co-found. Box.net has raised close to $15 million in venture funding.
Smith and Levie handle reporting to the board as well as attending board meetings and executive team meetings, but they spend most of their time working in tandem, examining opportunities for growth.
Box.net is a cloud storage and document sharing company that allows file-sharing through third-party Web-based services and applications.
Smith focuses on sales and working with management on the budget issues to ensure the company is progressing efficiently; Smith is really the invisible force behind box.net
“Overall, Aaron is going to be the figurehead and the face of the company, the guy everyone rallies around,” Smith said. “I’m the support, ensuring he and the teams have the resources they need to execute on the vision.”
