WHAT IS YOUR PLAN?

We have all heard it before, but it is as true as can be:

” Those who fail to plan, plan to fail”

To start a business from home, the first thing that you need to is have a plan. Making $25-75K is not a matter of joke. Don’t fall for those gimmicks that tell you that all you have to do is buy their $69 product and you will on your way to making a six-figure income by the end of the year.

Unless you have millions to invest and you want to simply make a six-figure income from the interest, you are going to need to work.

Yes, there is a lot of hard work involved. This is why it is important to have a foolproof business plan. This plan will have a list of the goals and business objectives and how you intend to achieve them. It will also contain a list of how you intend to cover up your risks.

You business plan does not need to be complicated. It basically has to have 4 main points:

1. What is the objective of the online business you are starting? Who is your clientele? How are you going to reach them?

2. What are the tools you are going to need to run your online business? In other words, are you going to need a computer a telephone line, or a fax? These are indispensable tools.

3. What are your expenses? How much money are you going to need to spend before realistically making any kind of profit? This is vital as if you don’t know this, you will dig yourself into an expense hole you will be incapable of crawling out of. So, where is your initial investment going to come from? You are going to need to be very creative to come up with the funds. Where there is will there is ALWAYS a way!

4. Are you mentally and emotionally ready to embark on a journey that offers no guarantees? There is no such thing as guaranteed profits! Yes, your chances of success could be extremely high – even up to 90%, but there is never a 100% guarantee that you will make money in any online business. You need to have a mindset that is ready for the long haul

If making six figures is a  dream you want to come true then having a business plan is a must. Even if you have a great product or service, no one will buy it if you do not have a proper marketing plan. How will they know where to find you?

You cannot sell ice to Eskimos or water in a desert where there is nobody. Thus you need two things for a successful business:

1. A marketing plan and customers. You can’t have one without the other. The business plan will help you see things clearer, and allow you to know exactly how to execute this plan right from day 1.

The other important aspect that you have to take care of in your master plan is where to find your market. This is where most aspiring entrepreneurs fail miserably. Now if you want a six figure income from home, then you have to know where to find your market. Where do they hang out? What are their buying habits, what is their greatest frustration etc.

The beauty about the Internet is that you can research your market thoroughly. There are amazing tools out there that will help you laser target your customers. This way you won’t have whiners and tire kickers checking out your online business or service, you will instead have serious people who are looking to do business with you. Plus, with the Internet, if you use these tools correctly you will have the entire Internet world as your potential market.

What kind of product/service are you looking to sell? If you are looking to sell $10-50 products to make your six figures monthly or yearly, then you might want to really think long and hard on this. For example if you needed to make $25,000/month, you would need to make 500 sales per month of this product or service to have that kind of an income so over a year you would need to sell 6000 units/packages/subscriptions per year to make $300k/year.

Establishing a business via the internet isn’t as complicated as most people make it seem. The bottom line is being to have a product pipeline and moving the correct leads through the pipe.

In other words, know what you want. What kind of Internet business are you looking to for. How quickly do you want to be in profit?

Depending on your goals, you might go for the average home business opportunity or product and work your way patiently and diligently until you are in profit.

However, if you want to accelerate your money making, then you need to change you way you think.

Unless you are an extremely savvy Internet marketer, it will be very tough for you to make a six figure income selling a 49.99 or 79.99 e-book or software.

If you REALLY want to skyrocket your income in the quickest way possible while keeping your integrity and ethical code, then you need to consider a pricier product to sell. This is what is commonly referred to as a “high ticket” item in the business world.

Most people are intimidated by high ticket items because they are unable to buy these items themselves, so they are convinced nobody else will be interested let alone be able to afford to buy their product.

Understand this… “The product you sell is NOT ABOUT YOU”.

Let me explain:

You will be hugely successful by sticking to the following five steps:

#1 – Locate a market that wants your product:

Locating a market that is generating a large volume of sales is without a doubt the best approach to take when beginning an internet business. To see maximum results, locate an active market with a large volume of exchange between goods and money. You can’t sell a product that YOU are excited about to a market that has little or NO money to spend. Think about it…of what use is a flashy and racy Ferrari to Eskimos?? Not only do they have no use for it, but even if they had the money and wanted to buy it, they would have to leave their natural habitat to drive the car!

#2 – Develop your own product line or find a product can believe in and you could personally use:

Look at your interests, your passions, and the problems you want to see solved in this society. In other words, identify your passion and interests, something you would do without necessarily getting paid for. Next, take your interests and passion and match that with the needs and wants of potential clients then find or create a product to fill this need. If you have no interest in designing and creating a product, then find take the time to find a product or service that you really believe in, and be an agent or an affiliate. Regardless of the path you choose, to establish a good reputation, make sure the products you sell are quality products that offer a real value.

#3 – Master the art of list building:

One of the more important aspects of building a business on the internet is creating and maintaining a list. While it might sound cumbersome, it’s really a simple process. Tools such as auto-responders are available that will be helpful with marketing, article writing and moving leads into the opt-in section of your website. It does require a little time and patience to master; however, this one aspect can make or break a business. So, it’s essential to learn and utilize every aspect it offers. If you feel technically challenged by what I just said, then find a program or a system that already has these things in place, and plug into that. Either way, you will need a way of having a subscriber base that you can connect with on a personal level

#4 – Become a masterful internet marketer:

Two of the more difficult things to learn is how to move traffic and marketing. Most people are simply at a loss when it comes to this process. This is where most people end up failing MISERABLY.

The lifeblood of any home based business is the qualified traffic/leads. You need people who are looking for the product you are offering. It doesn’t really matter how “extraordinary” your product is. If no one is taking a look at it, then you will have ZERO sales.

In fact, the marketing system you put in place is just as important as the product itself. This is also another area where people fail to make the mentality shift. Let me use the Ferrari example to illustrate my point…

If you were to buy a powerful and fully loaded red Ferrari; what kind of gas would you put in this car? Would you find the cheapest gas and probably mix it up with some water just to save money, or will you follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for premium gas? Yes there are tons of ways of generating FREE traffic out there, but do you know them? Do you have the time to learn about all of them?

The best way is having all this research and learning work shaved off by either outsourcing this work or plugging to an existing system that does nothing but draw hordes of qualified leads to your product or service.

What you need is to have as much traffic coming to your sales funnel as possible. The system you put in place will then weed out the tire kickers and retain the serious ones. At this point you can really start dreaming about the possibilities, and you can REALLY say that the sky is the limit

#5 – Leaders are learners

Being a successful entrepreneur makes will make you a leader. Why? Because you will have people who will follow your example as well as clients who will come to trust and like you. As a leader, you need to make sure that you do not shy away from anything that contributes to your self-development. Condition your mind at all times, because the higher up you go, the more negativity your will encounter. Learn to work with a team, hang out and be inspired by the people you hang out with (in other words, choose your partners carefully).

expenses just as in any other type of business. Often those
starting online businesses don’t have as much start-up capital
as someone starting an offline business, and that’s part of
why they chose the online route. To them, there are times when
every penny counts.

free up some fund that you may be able to reinvest back into

1)  Use Skype for your long-distance telephone needs. Skype is
an Internet-based telephone service that is owned by the same

Skype allows you to download a simple piece of free software,

and hardware tools available. We read about some
tool that could easily DOUBLE our business, or
TRIPLE our productivity, so we wisely purchase it.

Many of us realize that we lack certain skills in
critical areas of our businesses, so we register for
online classes.

Many of us realize that we don’t really know how to
use those whiz-bang pieces of hardware or software
mentioned above, so we track down and register for
in-depth tutorials.

Then we do the DUMBEST thing… we never go through
the training. We never learn to use those tools that
could easily make our lives easier, and our businesses
much more profitable.

We rationalize that “we don’t have the time!”

This is one of two areas that has contributed the
most to the growth of my productivity… and to my
bottom line recently. I’ve started actually “making
the time” to go through those tutorials and really
learn to use the software or hardware tools that I
have. I’ve actually made the time to go through
several tutorials on how to develop critical skills
that I need.

As an aside, I’ve also “made time” for more fitness,
which is also essential to my long-term productivity.

How does a busy businessperson do this?

You simply put it right on your schedule… and then
you do it. You allocate blocks of time for it, and
then you don’t “find” something more important.

I spent 20 years and 10 months in the U.S. Air Force.
During that time I spent many, many WEEKS sitting
at a desk or computer, actually learning how to
use a piece of equipment, or learning to do some
process. I often wondered if that was the best use
of my time, but I wasn’t given a choice! So, I
cheerfully completed the training.

I not only learned to use my equipment, but I had to
then take “practical exams” to prove that I knew how
to do it.

Major corporations, governmental agencies, universities,
etc, ALL put their personnel through extensive
training to make sure that they actually know how
to use the equipment and do the processes that are
a part of their jobs.

This training is often VERY expensive.

Many of these corporations consult with major
think tanks, and expensive consultants, in looking
for ways to improve productivity… and their
bottom lines. It’s rare that they are advised to
cut training.

Many of us online entrepreneurs have never run
our own businesses before, and for some reason don’t
fully appreciate the value of properly training our
employees (or ourselves). So, we flounder for days,
weeks, then months! We operate at a fraction of our
potential productivity because we never really learn
to use the tools at our disposal.

Consider… if setting aside an hour a day for a week,
to actually learn to use the tools that you already
use every day more efficiently, would increase your
productivity by 20 percent, would it be worth it?

To me, the answer is a resounding yes. Over the
next year the return-on-investment would be huge.

When you consider the amount of time many of us
spend on time-wasters (we all know what they are),
we have to acknowledge that we really can fit
proper training into our schedules. That’s just a
matter of discipline.

There IS a reason big businesses and governmental
agencies set aside training days, or even training
weeks! Perhaps we should take our cues from them.

and got stuck working for everyone who called off. It was horrible.

But…every night… I would come home and read. I subscribed to
every “Entrepreneur” style publication I could get my hands on…
if only the net was then…what it is today…my goodness!

I started learning about sales and marketing and business. 
By the time I was 20 I opened my first LLC and starting selling 
advertisements on placemats and giving them to local restaurant 
owners for free. It was my first $1,500 in profts on the side.

It was a drug for me…study a new technique, a new system, a 
proven method…Work At It, Improve on It and make money!

One by one I tried various opportunities giving each a solid 6 months or so of solid effort and then weeding out what wasn’t working.

I have had the opportunity to incorporate and grow several multi-million dollar businesses online and offline through Trial and Error. Not one of them ever making me rich overnight.

There have been good times and bad. And Yes…I have Thrown Tens of Thousands of dollars in the trash with stuff! I chalk it up as an education expense.

The key here is…Stay Focused on the Objective. Do Research, Make a Solid Decision and Pick something. ONE THING! Give it 6 months or whatever. If you spent your hard earned money then spend some time to study the course / product and put it into 
action.

I bought Carlton Sheets Program and went on to buy and sell over 2000 acres, developed 3 subdivisions built over 100 apartments and 30 single family homes. 
I don’t say this to brag….but to show you the power of determination.

The caveat ….be careful what you wish for. If you grow too fast it opens other doors and potential liabilities….and MORE LEARNING CURVES.

Everything above sounds like peaches and cream…but the truth is…it all Sucked. I was miserable and had a lot of pressure every month..payroll, trucks, mortgages, employees…

I was trying to create financial freedom with a brick and mortar business but created a job that had vicious financial cycle every month.

The same applies online. Really think about what you want your online business to do for you. There are a lot of Roads you can go…which is daunting…but start with one. Each one will ultimately lead you to the next in one way or another.
Go with something that you understand, think you would enjoy, learn and grow from.

Focus on the First Dollar…not the First Million. You can’t earn a million until you earn $1.

At the end of the day…if you want something bad enough…it will happen. Just understand that it takes time and you have a lifetime to achieve your goals.

Stay focused, turn positives into negatives, pay attention and always be doing something to improve yourself.

Persist until you succeed and failure will never overcome you as long as your determination to succeed is strong enough!

The law of perception

You have heard many tell you that your perception determines your level of ascension. Think for a moment and imagine the ants. Try to picture yourself as an ant living in some isolated part of the world where you have not even seen any other animals. The only animals you encounter frequently are insects.

Imagine what happens when you see an elephant close up? Can you even raise your eyes high enough to see the enormity of this elephant?

So basically, the law of perception states that you can only envisage or conceive what you are capable of seeing. If you cannot see yourself creating and owning a billion dollar company, then it is only normal that you never become a billionaire. If you see yourself as a six-figure earner, and have trouble perceiving yourself as a millionaire, then it doesn’t matter how hard you try to be a millionaire, you will most likely never become one. Think big, dream big, and your perception will force your current situation to catch up with it.

The law of sowing and reaping

This is probably the most popular law out there. Everybody at some point has heard about this law. So, what exactly does this have to do with you as an entrepreneur? The answer is actually quite simple. If you put in half-hearted efforts in your business, you will receive half-hearted results.

If you sow seeds of laziness in your business, poverty will hit you with the weight of a ton truck. In other words, every action that you put in has a direct consequence in you business. So, think long and hard about the kinds of seeds you want to sow in your online business

The law of use

The law of use will kill procrastination, laziness, excuses and “badluck”. Do you sometimes think to yourself and say: “this guy succeeded because he was lucky. He introduced his product/service at the right time”? If you have had this thought before, then I have news for you. Those who put what they read and hear IMMEDIATELY into practice are the ones who ALWAYS seem to succeed and get the “lucky” breaks. Luck and opportunity will always follow those who try to take the limited results they have to try to multiply them. Get into the habit of TAKING ACTION. If you learn something new, put in practice immediately. Don’t wait for the “perfect” occasion to use it. Don’t fear failure, and like famous commercial says..” Just do it!”

The law of Focus

In layman terms, laser is concentrated energy. That is why laser can go through ANYTHING. For every project that you engage in, your focus or lack thereof will determine the outcome. Yes, we live in a society that is full of distractions, and our inability to shut these distractions out is not because of the distractions themselves, but because of our lack of focus. Concentrated emotional and mental focus will blast through any hardship or difficulty. With focus, there is no time to complain or victimize. We are all usually great at starting projects, but halfway through or towards the end, we throw in the towel or are eagerly distracted by another opportunity.

There are many other laws of success out there, but like we already mentioned in the “law of use”, we need to use what we already have rather than trying to get even more information that we will NOT USE.

Given the very morose economic environment, more and more people are coming online to look for ways to make quick and easy money online. Is this possible? Yes and No.

If you have 6-12 months to spare in 5 hours per week of study and practice, then you can pretty much build an online empire without ever having to work ever again in your life. Some people have managed to do this in less time, but in my opinion, this is quite exceptional.

Those who come for the easy money usually end up in the hands of scammers and ponzi scheme artists. Why? Simple. These people are experts on preying on your emotionally desperate state. You can even ask for a Google analytics report. 99% of all website owners know the importance of having a Google analytics script to monitor their traffic in order to tweak and improve their websites.

Ask them to provide you with examples of other websites they have built if possible. Here is a list of other questions you can ask them:

1.What is their search engine optimization method? Do they have documentation on this?

2. What kind of link building campaigns have they implemented on the site, and do they have the necessary documentation?

3. What system is currently in place to not only maintain the targeted traffic, but also increase it?

4. What are the main keywords that drive people to the site?

There are no guarantees of getting first page ranking in Google, or Yahoo, but there are certain details you can look for when buying a website that will ensure that you are not buried in the hundreds of pages of results from Google.
